PAC&CMC for oil drilling

Drilling fluid and completion fluid technology are important components of petroleum drilling engineering, playing a crucial role in ensuring safe, high-quality, and rapid drilling. As a type of treatment agent used to adjust the performance of drilling and completion fluids, cellulose ether mainly plays a role in reducing filtration loss and increasing viscosity.

CMC and PAC improve the aggregation stability of the system by forming a thick adsorption solvation layer on the surface of drilling fluid soil particles; By adsorbing fine clay particles, the surface charge of particles is increased to reduce the electrostatic attraction between particles; Reduce the permeability of the mud cake by increasing the viscosity of the filtrate and plugging the pores.

Carboxymethyl cellulose is easily dispersed in all water-based drilling fluids, and can be used from fresh water to saturated saline drilling fluids. In low solid and solid-free drilling fluids, it can significantly reduce filtration loss and thin mud cake thickness, and has a strong inhibitory effect on shale hydration.

Our company uses special technology to process and produce drilling fluid made of polyanionic cellulose (PAC), which has strong water solubility and excellent salt resistance, calcium magnesium resistance, and filtration loss reduction ability; It can be applied to different drilling fluid systems, especially in saltwater drilling fluid, seawater drilling fluid, and saturated saltwater drilling fluid, with excellent filtration reduction effect. Compared with CMC produced by conventional processes, it has the following characteristics:

(1) Replace uniformity, high transparency, controllable viscosity and water loss reduction;

(2) Suitable for freshwater, seawater, or saturated saline water-based mud;

(3) The prepared mud has good characteristics of water loss reduction, inhibition, and high temperature resistance;

(4) The prepared mud has good rheological properties and can inhibit the dispersion and expansion of clay and shale in high salt media, thereby controlling wellbore contamination;

(5) Stabilize the soft soil structure and prevent wellbore collapse;

(6) Slow down the accumulation of solid substances in the mud when drilling through the rock surface;

(7) Suppress turbulence in the drill pipe to maintain minimal pressure loss in the reflux system;

(8) Enable mud to increase slurry production rate and reduce filtration loss;

(9) It can stabilize mud foam.

In order to promote product development and study the application of PAC&CMC in drilling and completion fluids, our company has conducted a series of petroleum application experiments for product performance testing and new product development.
