1. As an excipient, plasticizer, reinforcing agent, etc. of the embryo: CMC can increase the plasticity of the blank, facilitate the molding of the blank, increase the processing speed of the green blank, and reduce production energy consumption. At the same time, its polymer chains form a network structure under the action of van der Waals force, showing adhesion, which significantly increases the flexural strength of the green body, improves the stability of the blank, and reduces the breakage rate.

2. As a decoagulant and suspending agent: CMC can evenly evaporate the moisture in the blank and prevent drying and cracking. At the same time, it has strong suspension and dispersion properties, which can prevent the agglomeration of infertile raw materials and color slurry particles and make the slurry disperse evenly.

3. Improve mechanical strength and high-grade finished product rate: Due to the addition of CMC, the green body is easy to form and the mechanical strength is increased by 2-3 times. This can not only improve the stability of the blank, thereby increasing the rate of high-quality finished products, but also reduce post-processing costs.

4. Improve the uniformity of the formed body: Due to the addition of CMC, the shrinkage during baking is uniform, which is conducive to the control of product deformation and promotes the stability of product dimensions.

5. As a bonding increaser and water reducing agent: In ceramic production, CMC can increase the fluidity of the slurry, thereby achieving water reduction, improving powder productivity and reducing production energy consumption.
